Gloomth & The Cult of Melancholy

Official "Blog"- We have an Official Spoon also, let me show you it...

Gloomth on Etsy's Front Page!
[info]gloomth
We were so thrilled to find out that Gloomth made etsy.com's front page selection!!!!!!!!
I actually had no idea until a fellow seller sent me a message, heh. :)

Screenshot under the cut:

under the cut cuz its HUGE! )We are working on some new items, I know we haven't posted many this fall. We have been insanely busy and 99% of the staff energy around here has been dedicated to getting orders finished and out the door.

I should have 1 or 2 at least this week as well as fresh photoshoots. :)

Well, back to work!

Gloomth's New Logo!
[info]gloomth
new gloomth logo G

I've been steadily working on streamlining our logo (for printing reasons). Here is the finished G of our name. Just a lot cleaner looking- and now it has it's own little pet. ;)

What do you think?

We will be having a little facebook contest shortly to pick a name for the bunny fetus in the middle. So stay tuned. :)

Erica Nockalls on tour wearing Gloomth Clothing!!
[info]gloomth
Erica Nockalls (musician) had a custom "Tartan" skirt and "Itoshii" top made for her to wear on tour with the PROCLAIMERS earlier this fall! She just sent us some amazing photos of her on stage in our clothes!!!

Posed photos by: Miles Hunt (in facebook album)
Tour photos by: Lynda McIntyre

There are many more photos of her in our outfit on our Facebook page--> http://www.facebook.com/#/album.php?aid=343042&id=15315555530&ref=mf

Gloomth & Polyvore
[info]gloomth
If you've been on our site recently you may have noticed the little purple "P" next to the AddThis button on the individual item pages.
If not go look- *waits a bit*- see? Nifty eh? :P

It's an "ADD ITEM TO POLYVORE" button, so you can use our items in sets on Polyvore.com
Just click it and it will add our item to your saved items on polyvore!!! Super easy.

We'll even be running some Polyvore contests soon so now's the time to get your practice in! It's super easy to use and insanely addictive.

And because I have literally no shame I am posting my first ever set that I created on Polyvore. It's terrible and wonky and out of focus.
So why am I showing you this? So you can do a much better version!!!

In other news new items are simmering and nearly ready for launch, watch out for the newsletter for those. :)

Lace Mystique photoshoot! (Lace Bunnyears)
[info]gloomth

It was 20something above zero here today and sunny! The perfect day for an unplanned quickie photoshoot at one of our favorite locations, with one of our favorite models.

Model: CheshireCat

We recently revamped our "Verdant" dress and I have been needing to reshoot it for far too long. The line of the skirt of this dress is so much more smooth and elegant now.

See the rest of the series in our official facebook-> http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/album.php?aid=339509&id=15315555530&ref=nf

The "rabbit eared" headband/veil was something I quickly whipped together prior to the shoot. What do you think?

How was YOUR Halloween?
[info]gloomth

Because I keep getting asked this, I did dress up for Halloween. I went as a Cupcake.
Well, more of a general sugary confection honestly...
Which meant a LOT of bright colors and a ridiculous pink wig. Big change from the black I wear constantly and my red hair. :D
Hardly anyone recognized me when we were out- which was very satisfying and fun.

I made the dress, the shirt is vintage and altered. Makeup is Kryolan aquacolor in Teal *available on our site*
Yes the cupcake by my eye is drawn on in eyeliner.
"Eat Me" necklace is by etsy seller "stoopiddgerl".
I made the wrist cuffs with the bows and cookies/cakeslice and most of the hair accessories.

Now for the unflattering costume shots!!!!!!!

The dress has an enormous square dance style petticoat underneath so it swung around my body at like a 2foot radius.
Sadly I don't have a shot with my pink lace tights and pink leg warmers.

What did you dress as? Did you go anywhere exciting????

Gloomth Fan Store- Tshirts, buttons, stickers, etc.
[info]gloomth

create & buy custom products at Zazzle

Not much is new around here, but I'm trying to be good about updating this journal. :)

October is always absolutely insane at Gloomth and we pretty much put all our upcoming designs on hold until after the 31st when things can start uncoiling again. Rest assured we have some FIERCE new stuff on the way for the holidays!

As per request, we now have a Zazzle fan store! If you love Gloomth but just want a cool tshirt with one of our prints or catalogue images that's the place to snag them! As well as adorable buttons, stickers, and lots more. It's not very well stocked right now but I'll be adding items often over the next few days to get it ready for any holiday shopping. :)

We're also working on some zazzle only designs created by our very own models and perhaps fans soon enough!!!!
As well as more artwork designs by yours truly. :P

We're working on a Halloween theme photoshoot which should hopefully be edited/posted shortly, so stay tuned.

Thanks

More photos- Harajuku White Rabbit Photoshoot by Gloomth
[info]gloomth

Here is the second of our mini photosets!
This one is starring our lovely model Cheshire Cat in a very pink Harajuku Bunny look!

INTERESTING FACT: We found that red umbrella in our driveway before the shoot. It is not ours, and it was all broken and missing it's handle when we found it.

:)

See the rest here---> http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=326929&id=15315555530&saved#/album.php?aid=326929&id=15315555530&ref=mf

For those curious she is wearing our "Shiro Lilly" dress in white with a plethora of accessories. The makeup/styling was by yours truly!

What do you think? Do you prefer the sharp Gothic style or the punky Harajuku look?

Model Cromaggia in Classic Black & White Gothic Ensemble!
[info]gloomth

The first of our two new photosets is now available in our Official Facebook!

Some really autumn-y feeling shots in soft black and white. Cromaggia is wearing our "Melancholia" dress which is made from a gorgeous stretch velvet that feels like butter, with black lace trimmed sleeves. We can also make this dress with straight sleeves and custom to whatever length. :)

We have another photoset almost finished, which is the opposite of this one- loads of bright crazy color!

In other news we are slowly chugging through the Halloween orders and will do our best to make sure your clothing is in your hands on time! :D

NEW PRESS:
Gloomth's "Anther" dress was featured in GET MARRIED Magazine for their inaugural issue!
Check it out->

Thanks again!

Velvet & Lace and Bunnies & Pink!
[info]gloomth

(little preview of a snapshot from a photoshoot we did this weekend with Cromaggia)

Autumn is finally 100% here. Leaves are drifting down around us and the wind/cold is snarling and sharp.
Can't help but be excited, it's such a gorgeous season!

It's also my favorite season for velvet; dresses, jackets, anything in that slick fabric. :D
In the spirit of such tradition we did a mini photoshoot with Cromaggia this weekend in our lush "Melancholia" dress.
(see preview above)

We also did a completely opposite photoshoot the same day with Cheshire in an adorable Harajuku inspired bunny outfit.
Lots of color and pink! :P
No previews for that romp yet but stay tuned.

Both shoots will be available in entirety in our official Facebook shortly, we are just color-correcting etc and should have them available in a few days. In the mean time feel free to go and look at the plethora of other shoots available there. :D hehe.

~

In other news we're hoping to have some new items finished and available shortly. Some new dresses and even a jacket/coat or two, since the cold weather can't chase us away from petticoats and frills!

The Gloomth headquarters has been infected with flu, seems like everyone working here is either getting over something or just catching it. I'm finally on the mend after a gruesome week of it last week. Yuck! Not a nice way to spend the season. Hopefully no one is sick for Halloween.

What items are missing from your spooky wardrobe? What fabric would your dream coat be made of? Isn't velvet friggen nice?! :P

Last day for Halloween orders.
[info]gloomth

(Cromaggia & Lilith frolicking in our GuroLolita photoshoot- find the rest in our official facebook)

Well, it's the 28th- which means today is the last day for Halloween made to order items. Our accessories, hats, jewelry and in stock goodies can be shipped up to the 25th, but all made to order clothing ordered after today will not ship until the 1st of November.

We love Halloween around here. I actually put most of our house decorations up by Sept. 15th, we're always first on our street. I'm a goof, I know, but it's really the only holiday we celebrate in our household and I have huge boxes full of decorations etc. I've gathered over the years.
Now we just have to figure out what we're actually DOING for Halloween. :P
We are, however, planning some really fun Halloween and autumn inspired photoshoots. I just can't get enough of that smell of the fallen leaves and drying soil, any excuse to be outdoors during this season.

Are you excited about Halloween??

We're working on some new clothing designs, should have those up and available sometime in October. Including some jackets and overcoats to fit over fluffy Loli and Gothic skirts. :D

Gloomth miniature top hats!
[info]gloomth
We recently did a little photoshoot with some of our regular Gloomth models as well as two new faces!
Thank you again to all the models who came out and posed for us, and to Derek Cutting (our official photographer) for snapping the shots once again.

Here are some fun examples from the day, the rest can be found in our official Facebook.

All of the top hats shown in the photos are now available on our website, in stock and ready to ship!!
http://www.gloomth.com/tophats

Gloomth has also been notified that we will be featured in Issue #29 of Gothic Beauty Magazine!!!
Which is very exciting to us, I must say. :)

As far as news, there isn't much else to report. We're working on some new items, including our expanded men's line which has been long in the works. Hopefully I'll have the first few designs up before the new year.

more photos under the cut :) )-tae

Miss Muffet gothic photostory by Gloomth
[info]gloomth

This weekend we did a little Photostory with our model/friend Kuroihitomi- and a bunch of very nasty spiders.

The result is our "Miss Muffet & the Horrible Spiders" photostory!!!!

You can see the entire set in our Facebook!
http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/album.php?aid=313149&id=15315555530

We were devoured mercilessly by mosquitos while doing this shoot. There was much swatting between snaps of the camera.
Thanks to Derek Cutting, our official photographer- and to Kuroihitomi for suffering for our art!

Gloomth Halloween 2009 Information
[info]gloomth

(I am not taking credit for this image, I found it on google. props to the creative masters behind it- haha "behind")

Halloween is fast approaching, you may (or may not) be contemplating costumes and event attire but if you're thinking Gloomth here's the info on this year's scheduling for in-time-for-Halloween orders.

If you want your items to be in your hands by
October 31st you must place your order by
Setpember 30th.

We cannot guarantee arrival times after the 30th and that includes rush production orders.
We are always swamped in the fall hence the early deadline etc. (Thankfully we are not planning a wedding this year, unlike last)

We're also have about 2 more spots for custom items for Halloween, so if there's something you'd like made just for you for the season let us know asap before those spots are booked. :)

Remember many of our items can be made in custom colors- such as a Pale Tuesday top with orange accents instead of white or a Plumes skirt with orange trim instead of red!!! :D

Thanks
